Aubrey had her 2 month check up today. She now weights 11lb 14oz and is 23in long. That's my girl!!! She also got 3 shots. She definitely didn't like that part. It broke my heart to see her cry. I couldn't wait for the nurse to let me hold her. She was so good for the whole visit, and then they gave her shots at the end. I am really proud of my little girl!
A few weeks ago someone stole one of our bikes off our back porch. It was our old Univega, which was actually considered my bike at the time. It was old and Ryan needed to fix a lot of stuff on it, so it was out of commission anyway. We told our insurance company about it, and they replaced the old bike with this BRAND NEW mountain bike. Talk about an amazing trade!!!
Notice anything weird about this bike? It has only one bar on the fork. It is a lefty front fork shock. Very interesting!
Aubrey sat and watched her dad as he opened his new bike, practically hyperventilating!! She loves her Dad!
On Saturday the 24th Ryan's buddy Chris put on a wakeboarding event where guys could come and wakeboard. Boats, boards, bindings, and drysuits were donated just for the event. It was awesome! The catch is that the guys went wakeboarding in January snow.
They had an EMT on site during the event. I kept asking him what he would do in an event where someone would get hypothermia. I also kept telling Ryan that if he backed out now, he wouldn't be considered a wussy in my book... He didn't go for it. Lukily he didn't even really touch the water. He dock started and dock ended. It was funny!
Ryan said the snow hurt his eyes while he was boarding. He had a great time though, and now he says he has the wakeboarding bug. HE WANTS TO DO IT AGAIN!!! Crazy boy.
Ryan, Aubrey, and I are will be traveling down to Utah at the End of April for my cousin’s wedding so we were thinking… LETS GO TO REXBURG! Many of you have never met Aubrey before so we thought it would be fun to get all our friends together and have a BBQ in Porter Park. We would really LOVE to see all of you, but I am wondering if it is worth setting everything up. Please let me know if think you might attend this event, so I can figure this all out. I don’t really have a date yet… just the end of April and I don't know who is still in Rexburg.
Just post me a little note if you think you might be there.
Blogging is the best! Can I just say I love this dress! oh and trust me, there are more beautiful ones like it on this awesome website called Shabby Apple. They are expensive, but sometimes they have sales and a good dress always comes in handy for special occasions. I think it is a good investment to make yourself feel good sometimes. Maybe I will get a discount from these people for posting something about them... PLEASE! Anyway, maybe for my birthday or something...
Today Aubrey was blessed in church by her Dad. It was a beautiful blessing. He did such a good job. We had a ton of family present. The pictures below isn't everyone that came. Some had to leave early, but I was so grateful there were so many people. Someone from the ward came up to introduce himself to Ryan's family and he said, there are houses in the ward if everyone would like to move in. It was funny.
I made the dress Aubrey wore for her blessing. Ryan's mom helped me alter it last night because it was way too big on her. Everything worked out though. She was beautiful.
These are almost all the men that were there. I think we are only missing two that were also in the blessing. My brother Phillip and Shane Westwood, a friend.
Phillip, Cassie, Jamaica, Gracie, and Grandma Johnson were in attendance, but they had to leave early.
Lately Aubrey has been smiling alot, so today I ran to get the camera and actually got a picture and a video of her smiling! She is starting to smile so big. Her cheeks look like they are going to take over her face. I can't even explain how wonderful it is to get up at night exhausted and see that sweet face smiling up at me. She makes it all worth it! Anyway, I hope you enjoy this video as much as I have.
Happy New Year Everyone! Ryan and I had a low key New Year celebration. We slept up until about 10 min before the ball dropped. We also toasted to the New Year over sparkling cider with my parents. Then Ryan and my Dad went outside and set off a bunch of fireworks. Aubrey on the other hand slept through most of the New Year. That was until the fireworks started going off, and people were screaming outside. All in all 2008 was a great year and our little family was blessed beyond measure.
January: We moved back to Rexburg for our last year of school. February: We decided to have a baby. March: I turned 23 April: We found out we were pregnant and Ryan turned 25. We also went to Moab with some awesome friends. July: Graduated from BYU-Idaho. Moved to Portland where Ryan started his Job for Kaiser. November: We had a wonderful addition to our family: AUBREY!
This is very vague on what went on this year, but just off the top of my head those were a few wonderful things that happened to us. We love our life and our family!! Happy New Year!!
